Estate Sale Score!! NO!!! A STEAL!!!!!!!!!!!

Two weekends ago I went to an estate sale of a local furniture mogul named BJ Huntley. A rather boring auction until they opened an old storage shed out back and there stands a complete Spec system in a double wide tower rack.
The components consisted of Spec 1, Spec 2, SG-9500, TX-9500II, RG-1, CTF-9191, RTU-11, TAU-11, Teac AN-300, and finally a set of SE-L40 Headphones, along with the rack.
The auctioneer started at 500.00 Dollars. No bids. Still no bids. Just before he no-saled it I got my hand up, SOLD !!! he says. Took me a couple minutes to catch my breath.
After the crowd moved on I started to check this out. Backed the 1`-ton up and started to remove components. An ex-son-in-law introduces himself and I finally get the story. The son had borrowed money from Dad(BJ) to buy the system and moved to Florida before it was paid off. Dad, being the kind of guy he was, wasn't letting it go until it was paid for. Well that caused some hard feelings, so the system was wrapped, sealed and stored for the next 28 YEARS!!!!!! The son-in-law told me it had less than 100 hours on it. I don't use the word MINT lightly but it certainly applies in this case. I'm a lucky SOB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The components on the right are the estate units, the left my original Spec stuff bought new in 1975.

After a little research on the TAU-11, I was sure there is a God. The heads show no wear, the tensioners needed a little nudge and off it went. The counter belt was the only victim. Absolutly was disintegrated. Some noisy pots and switches is all i can find wrong. Opened up the Spec1& 2 and they look newinside. WOW!
 
Lucky is the understatement of the year. With the addition of the D-23 Crossover a couple months ago I can now Tri-Amp the Model K's with another bass bin stacked on the present ones. OH YEAH!
 
Looks like a mint pair of phase linear 400s on the bottom as well as all the pioneer stuff.
 
I have bought and restored 11 400's , 1- 700B, and 2- 700 series 1's. Most of the 400's have been loaned to friends cause I was running out of room. Along with the amps i restored 3- 2000 Ser1's, 2- 3000's and a 3300 ser2. Those also on loan.
