Another white vanner (Genesis Media Labs), only this time he thinks his speakers are genuinely high quality and the flaggers are wrong:

I don't believe for a minute he doesn't know they are White Vans.

They all come up with different stories to try to move them.

They always have the pristine box, sometimes still with factory straps on them. Couldn't have had them too long or used them. No room, gift, will trade for car, originally $3500 but I want to get rid of them? This was even before the economy crunch .. just give me your money please...

In fact the grammar looks like the classic craigslist scam emails about "I will provide my own mover just gimme your phone and address, etc ".
 
Another update:

I just found out (via Google search) that the guy has also been trying to sell these speakers on Philadelphia Craigslist (there's 1 ad, already removed, from June 22 that shows up in a google search for his email).

Guess he thought Allentown Craigslist would have fewer flaggers.

I was planning to use a Crown MA-3600, that's close enough. ~1,800 WPC at 2 ohms.

Now, where's that JBL test disc with the 1812 overture on it? :scratch2:

Dang, you're MEAN! :D

But assuming he knows what he is selling (a reasonable assumption), he deserves it! I'll bet if you really tried to "test" his speakers that way, he'd suddenly know a lot more about audio and what 2,000 watts really means! :yes:

His grammar may be authentically "foreigner" grammar; he may be writing in a (poorly) learned second language, and if so, I can forgive him his many grammatical (syntactical, punctuation(al), and stylistic) sins. Otherwise, at his (lack of) educational level, I'd expect him to be doing something like White Van scams, as no one would hire him for anything respectable.

It is remotely possible that he was a victim taken in by a White Van scammer, and now --not knowing any better-- wants his money back, but I REALLY doubt it. I'd bet he knows exactly what he is pulling. "Methinks he dost protest too much!" Keep flagging his ads, and notify the FBI or whoever takes an interest in such scams.

Besides, a more common speaker impedance is 8ohms, not 2 ohms (and don't white van manufacturers claim their speakers' impedance is 8ohms anyway?). Find a receiver that is 2000 watts @ 8ohms, and send a 2000-watt low-frequency sine wave through the speakers--say, 40hz.

If you're curious, you email. And use a disposable free email id with no real name or phone number. :nono:

Who knows, you might make a friend ... all I need is more potential spam from Tenacious Craigslisters ... :no:

Note the seller's email... tomdogg. Dogg Digital is a known White-Van-Scam brand.

The newest widespread WVS brand is Paramax. If you search for the last 24hrs or last week with Paramax and Craigslist.org, you'll find oodles of WV scams to flag. :D
