They are not ebony. These are the monitor series with black painted veneer. If I recall correctly the veneer is ash, painted black. I too think it'll be a stretch to get that price in that condition.
Don't ya just love that selling on ebay for $1500 line... Uh, then why don't you sell them on ebay and make another 500 bucks? Hey and why a mutual meeting point? So I can't test your speakers or so you can hit me over the head and take $1000? Geez. No thanks.
I just love CL. I love those speakers though. Have a set. Didn't pay near that.

A very reputable AK member has a pair of these available, in FAR better shape and for less $$$$. There are many benefits of becoming an AK subscriber......one of which is you would know who that particular member is.
