Apparently quite rare or hard to come by. It's the cartridge allignment tool that came with my Thorens TD125 MK II along with spacers, screws, etc...

Not sure about the black round items though. They look like some type of rubber washers/spacers. Do they even belong with the TD125 II ?

Hi, Wow! that looks it will come in to some use. I have the Thorens TD-166 mKII which came with the plastic setup tool also . I have since then given away a lot of the plastic spacers or traded for stuff, those being like Gold!

It's nice to find stuff that has been put away. "Old Enlish" LOL.

Could you please take some very careful measurements in mm of the plasic gauge tool please post them up so we can make our own.

This would be of terrific value for the Hi fi Community.
 
Cool! There's a similar problem with the Harman Kardon SL7 turntables, too, where the alignment jig has been lost and setting overhang is a real pain.

Funny what becomes gold to folks in this hobby.

BTW, the English Leather box is just as classic as your turntable. I remember those commercials on TV, too. Cute wemmen rubbing hunky guys' faces......

English Leather....can't believe I wore that stuff. :lmao:

I'll post the dimensions (mm) as soon as I possibly can. I'll be as precise and thorough as possible.

Man, you should have seen the smile on my face when I found this after-shave box. I knew I had the box, I just wasn't sure which part of the house my wife had stored it in.

Not only did we wear it ...we, and our dates, thought it was great .... right up there with Jade East ...different scent, but equally cool,... just not quite so 'rugged', right?

I was a camp counselor and that about summed up the gifts--English Leather, Jade East and Hai Karate. Funny how no one gave audio accessories. :scratch2:
 
Just a few years ago, I found a NOS can of Burma Shave, which pre-dated the English Leather, Hai Karate, etc... on the shelf of an ancient hole-in-the-wall shop run by a septuagenarian. I actually used a bit of it to shave with! :D


That Thorens kit is, indeed, "GOLD" to many. To have a whole set of the spacers like that, makes you a very lucky man. Congratulations! "thmbsp"

Would you please be able to measure the width and bredth in mm of those spacers. I can see the thicknesses on them. Is the white one 3mm thick?

Ahh yes, Hai Karate! I remember the commercials, with the guy trying to fend off the ladies. Ain't it the same crap 35 years later with Axe? Oh, my one friend always used to stink like a Fabrege' factory.

I still like Canoe though, but haven't bought it in a couple years.

Sorry to steer the thread off track. Those mounting screws are hard to come by! Worth thier weight in gold! Mark
 
I'm sorry, but I don't believe there is any way to remove the English Leather residue.
Please forward the contaminated objects for proper disposal.

Which bit exactly is the alignment tool?
Do you have docs?
