Hello,

Just bought it yesterday and looking for a schematic...

Anyone knowing about this type of consoles or this particular brand?

Sorry, no pics for now.

There's not a lot of documentation about this West German brand on the net.

The console uses two 6BQ5 and at least, one EM84 (tuning-eye).

Mine seems to be in bad state (electronically I mean). However, I need some schematics to restore...

RM is a bitch. :thumbsdn: About your console: Keep in mind that German electronics makers often sold the same or similar products in different countries under different model names. Its very possible the "Menuett" was only sold in Canada and was called something else in US or other countries. This can be very confusing to people looking for info. on a specific model using an international site such as AudioKarma. :wtf:
 
Well, I've found a collector in Germany and he'll send me the docs...

This machine has two OPT's and I believe some "normal speakers" (i.e. 4 or 8 ohms) but I'm not sure there's a power tranny. It could be switched from 110v to 240v. What do you think? Power tranny or not?

I'm too lazy to dismantle the amp inside the cabinet (inside my car for now on until we go at the cottage in 2 or 3 weeks. Do not worry, I removed the tubes for safety!).:D
 
I have a Lowe Opta stereo console with the PT mounted to the cabinet separate from the amplifier section. They used a Canadian made Hammond PT. I assume this was done as a cost cutting measure for units shipped overseas. But... if yours has the ability to select either 120 or 240v then you must have a PT. How else could this be done?
 
I would say it definetely has a power transformer. I have a table model Nordmende Turanadot and it has one. Nice sounding table radio with a single EL84 output.
 
I finally installed the console last weekend and saw (obviously, don't know why I asked that question...) the PT just under the chassis.

At least some of the Nordemende equipment looks exactly like Grundig, and sometimes Telefunken equipment. My have actually been the same, just different retailers. I'd look for Grundigs that look the same and see if there are specs and manuals etc for them.

Thanks Nat but I already ordered the schematic and service manual from a guy in Germany... All in Deutsch obviously but the schematic is well detailed and easily understandable.

Dawn PCB however...! It's easy to lift the trace when repairing (like I did).

Doesn't sound too bad but I'll have to change all caps (only those looking really bad were done as safety) and check for resistors out of spec.
