Portraits Of My "New" Pioneer PL-707

I picked this up locally a few weeks ago and in excellent condition. Everything works well and so far it is performing "muy excelente"!

She sure is pretty.

Here she is posing for the camera. Right now I have her running a brand new AT120e but I have been thinking of trying an Ortofon OM-30 or a Dynavector 10X5. I also have a new AT440ML/ occ that I have yet to try. I may go with that first and see how it mates with the PG arm of this TT.

I've got a 707 too. Notice yours has the standard headshell on it. Did it, by chance, also have a P-mount headshell with it?

It actually came with the P-mount headshell but I replaced it with the standard head shell. A lot more options for cartridges of course. The T4P headshell has an Ortofon OMP10 cartridge mounted.
 
May I inquire about where you got a std. headshell?

I would have sworn mine came with both (bought it new) but I can't seem to find the standard one.
 
I love the look of those tables. In the looks category I group it with the nicest Denon's and Sony's.
It is one of the one's I would like to own.

The standard headshell is a PXB-564 which looks different than the headshell pictured above.The one pictured might be one from a PL-7 or others in that group of tables.It obviously works with this arm.

My table has the standard PXB-564 and was looking to get another headshell to mount a future cartridge and found a Pioneer JL-518 on the web which is identical to the PXB-564.

Pioneervato's pictures are excellent.

The PXB-564 is no longer available. The JP-518 from turntableneedles.com is what is on my 707 shown in the pics. But I believe the design is slightly different but it fits well and couples well with the tonearm just the same.

I believe the original PXB-564 head shell was made of the same poly graphite material as the tonearm but is no longer available from Pioneer.
 
That's where I bought mine also but it does look a bit different.What really matters is that it fits and works.

I was able to pick up the original headshell from pioneer just a few years back. It was backordered and took quite awhile and wasn't all that cheap but well worth it, beautiful turntable. I've had mine for about 4 years and it's been a mainstay (others have come and gone). It's well built, sounds great and looks amazing :thmbsp:.
