Hey everybody!

I've been thinking about another Minifest hopefully before the end of the year, I'd like to keep it an annual thing. Our last ones were great!

Maybe earlier November. All (this means you!) would be invited. Anyone interested?

Well I'm sure the 3 of us would have a great time :D

I've been asked what the heck are we talking about. So: A bunch of very straitlaced gentleman audio 'buffs' in three piece suits and spats get together and listen to the harpsichord on an old Victrola while having tea and crumpets.

Whereupon it degenerates into a brawl of tubes vs solid state vs lps vs cds.

Then the cable guys start the lashings :eek:

No really it's great fun, last time there were folks from all different backgrounds and stereo povs', quite a bit of nice gear, a fair amount of different music, heck a couple of locals were even watching the OSU game in the back room.

Does November 14th work out?

Would be nice to come visit some friendly faces after a sour trip to Denver. I just don't want to see the inside of a car for a very long time...

Hey, the date is just a suggestion at this point, I threw it out there. We should probably firm it up by next Friday though.

I'm trying to stay as far away from Thanksgiving as possible but it could I suppose be between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Sorry if I'm being wishy-washy but I need to present the SO with a fait accompli :)

OK Max, and I've still got a lp for you. With a $10 storage charge :). Hey, bring some more neat stuff and we'll waive it!

It appears it'll be the 14th, sorry tboat. But I bet Florida is better!

And we'll have a VIP mystery guest too, a legend in his own mind. Who could this man of great stature be?? :scratch2:

A couple of things though: My speakers currently stink. If someone had something better than say Soundesign I'm betting we'd all be appreciative.

Also I've got to tell the SO. And then duck. :eek:

After I'm released from the hospital I'll confirm this whole thing.

I'll try to keep the same setup, start early end late come and go as you please and sleep on the floor if you wish :)

Perhaps a fire too weather permitting and if anyone so desires. But no alcohol allowed. Just kidding.

Well, Maybe the weather will be better in Florida, but I won't be listening to any of your good music, powered by any neat tube amps built by the guy from Michigan (Kegger)? coming through great speakers brought by the guy from Columbus (Can't remember his name). Like at your place though, I will be enjoying good beer, good food, good conversation and some good company. Have a great time and take lots of pictures.
 
Regarding the speakers, I have my old home built black ones from the basement, I will bring them if they fit in the RAV-4 (I sold the 4 - Runner). If not, maybe RJ can stop at my place on the way down and pick them up?

Wow, your prices are fantastic! Mind if I bring all of my bowling balls (no bags of course) so you can store them for the next forty years?

I'll see what else I can dig up :D

I'm guessing you've got an idea by now :grin:

Whatever you like, really, if you'd like to a/b your stuff against other units, or you've got something you're really happy with, or something unusual, or some white van speakers to blow up, heck the sky is the limit and there is no wrong thing, it's all good and the company is outstanding with a great deal of accumulated knowledge and different viewpoints. I've learned a lot from these gatherings and had a great time doing it.

I hope no one is put off by my somewhat glib mouth, I like to kid around but seriously, these get togethers have been a great time for all and I hope if you're reading this you'll come on down. All are welcome, except axe murderers. Well if you leave the axe at home it'll be ok, I guess. And no, I don't have an axe you can borrow.

Not a problem Warren. Just let me know a day or two in advance. You might want to wrap them in plastic just in case it's raining that day (open bed pick-up).

I might also bring a pair of L100t3's down if I still have them by then.
 
Will do. I'll make some measurements and see if they'll fit in the RAV4.

Well, it only cost a broken eye socket and 3 cracked ribs but IT IS ON!

Times to be decided. Chime in if you wish. I'm thinking like noon to 10ish or thereabouts.

It's possible my neighbor is having a party too so we'd be able to hook in some newbies while having a fire available at anytime :)

Nonmembers are welcome if anyone would like to bring a guest.

Money's tight right now, and this little shindig is coming just two weeks after the upcoming Louisville Monsters of Folk extravaganza. I'll see if I can make it...
