Too late to enjoy DVD-A?

I'll soon be picking up a Pioneer Elite DV-38a. I've heard this unit is well respected for CD playback, but it also plays DVD-As. I've never used DVD-As, but a fair amount of titles are still available and I've read that some titles outshine regular CDs in 2-channel (I won't use 5.1). I'll probably end up buying a title or two to see for myself, but I wanted to ask if DVD-As are worth the extra $$. And if you have any recommendations for buying DVD-As ... besides amazon and ebay. I'm excited to try a new format but also want to know what to expect.

DVD-A that are available are worth it is many cases. Their general lack of availability means its probably not worth buying a player for them however unless its universal or includes SACD. If you want the higher resolution sound on a fixed media, SACD makes more sense since there are so many more choices.

Thanks ... I noticed the lack of DVD-As and their high price. But I'm getting a good deal on the Elite and it's supposed to be a strong performer w/ CDs. If I find a DVD-A for a good deal, I'll try it. Otherwise, I'll just play CDs (and DVDs).

I love DVD-A discs, however, if I was only listen in two-channel I would not bother to buy either a player or the discs. My two cents…YMMV.
