Luxman PX-100 working, no torque?

Hi Analog Fans,

I put the last (2) caps in the PX-100 and oiled up the spindle real good, the playing is consistent, no more slowing down but, there is no real torque to this motor?

Anything else to look for or just leave it alone?:scratch2:

Thanks,

I added the record weight and it still plays great! Jon Luc Ponty! Awesome!

Maybe, it is normal!

Is it belt drive or DD? my Pd-290 has´nt got any torque either (it´s a DD) you can just get the brush around one revolution of the platter, before it halts.

Hi, It is DD and I have the same problem or is it a problem? Maybe it is was it is. How does your 290 work? it is similar to the PX-100/291.

Thanks,

IMO it´s not a problem, actually I think it´s a good thing because there is a lesser chance that rumble from the motor can be heard.

Just bought another Luxman, PX-101 Linear tracker.

I like the way it works and plays and the sound is quiet. I feel a lot better now that all my work was not in vain.

Thanks everyone.

I have a PX-100 and it too has no torque. I think it's just the way they are.

Thank You Very Much, this was driving me crazy. I recapped the whole TT and lubed the spindle, the speed is constant and it now sounds great with the Shure N93ED? I am not sure of the Shure HaHaHa...#. The one in the picture below, Playing Tina Brooks now!

Merry Christmas!

Thanks,
