I know the tweeters and mid horn are wired out of phase with the woofer but the wires for the mid horn and woofer have a stripped wire and an all black. I would think the striped wire goes to the positive terminal on the woofer but how bout the tweeter? Did E-V already reverse the wires so that the striped wire would go to the positive on the tweeter or should it be wired so the striped wire goes to the negative? I finally got my rebuilt woofers back and was wiring them up when I noticed again ( as I've always been concerned since I rebuilt these from missing parts) this dilemma. But now that I have all original parts I want to get it right before I button them up for good. Here is the wiring diagram but it doesn't show what wire is negative or positive. I hoping one of you smarter men can figure it out for me, Thanks men. EDIT: I'm also thinking maybe to make things easier during production the striped wire was used to go to the positive just to make it less confusing on the production line personal. So very possibly the striped wires were wired on the negative side to make it easy for the personal. What do you guys think?

First of all thanks for the diagram. Unfortunately the inductors and capacitors are missing from it.
Somewhere in the literature I read to be careful not to change the relative polarity of the high frequency unit from reverse to normal. No harm will be done, but the factory relies on the phase shift of about 180 degrees that occurs in the crossover to put the signals back in phase. So 180 in the crossover due to electronic action and 180 from the wiring = 360 or back to what it should be.
Since the crossover frequency is relatively low at 600Hz, phase related cancelation between it and the woofer can occurr in the crossover region. You and I would never notice it, but it would show up in a test enviroment. Nevertheless it will make a difference if one speaker system is wired normal and the other is reversed. Then the imaging is screwed up, or the instruments are not in the right locations when you close your eyes and relax and listen.
I could not find a + or - on my horn, so I marked it W and B prior to removal.
So white stripe on + of woofer and white stripe on - horn.
The schematicdoes not identify a striped wire for the tweeter. Which means that any way is OK, as long as both systems are the same. (chasing wires leads me to conclude that wire item 38 is + and wire item 37 is -).
I hope this clarifies things for you. If you have any more curiosities, make them known. I love these brain teasers.
