I like the design but his choice of wood leaves a bit to be desired. Looks like pine stained with the wrong color.

I agree with you hatrack. The trick to dealing with pine is to seal it first with a coat of clear shellac and the stain after is much more uniform. He may have the technical down but finishing has a ways to go.

Are there plans somewhere for building these? Seems like an interesting project.
