Legacy or Legacy II

How does one tell the difference between Advent Legacy and Legacy II's? ... when the stickers are gone off the back of the speakers, of course

I believe the Legacy tweeter faceplate length is oriented horizontally, while the Legacy ll length runs vertical when the 'Advent' badge on it is right reading.

I agree, and an internet search suggests the same (though I can't vouch for the accuracy of it):

Thanks folks:

So according to this info mine should be Legacy II's. See attached. Next to the Legacy II's are my Advent /1's (early version).

I just got the Legacy II's free (freecycle) and just did the foam surrounds on them. I found black surrounds instead of the standard grey ... think they look pretty good. So I have about $5.50 invested. I will have to clean-up and refinish the solid wood top and front cap, but otherwise they are quite clean. Dated August 1991.

I like them so far. Quite close to the Advent/1's - maybe a bit more 'open' (stronger mids?). Others:

have said the Legacy range was closest to the orginal Advents as you could get at the time - and they do seem pretty close. Mind you I am comparing to Advent/1's, and both pairs have just been refoamed, so both will change somewhat as the foams break in.
