Well, the last pair sold for $2750 and that was not a matched pair. If he'd ship them overseas, I have no doubt that he'd get his asking price.

Really? WOW - I am out of the loop. Guess I will keep my eyes open for a pair of these.
 
$300 for the sound, $3500 for the bragging rights?

I've never heard a pair, but that price has to be influenced by historical & collector's value as much as any actual function, though people LOVE the Altec drivers these employ. I'd love a pair just to have for my vintage tube system, but not at what they go for. I'll settle for my AR-3a. I'm just not sure how many people on the planet would be that impressed by me saying "but it's the world's first acoustic suspension loudspeaker!"
 
I remember seeing a "matched" pair of those Altec 755A drivers go for over $3k on the bay. There's a pair there now that's up to $1225 with about a day to go and he's already had a question about shipping to Japan.
