A couple of days ago, I asked about a Stromberg Carlson console. Went back today to take pictures, and it had morphed into a Curtis Mathes console!!! Couldn't believe it.

Anyway, any info or comments on this now that I have established that I was on a trip that day!!

Model 4529CB, 29C chassis, looks like it has 3 drivers on each side. At least a 12" and 4" or 5" for the others.

Searching through back threads I find a bit on C\M units, and comments on amp design. Single ended or push-pull??? Any idea on watts?

Pics included of the correct one I saw, not the one I imagined!!

Thinking of this as my first tube project if the price is right.

That's a sweet looking console and I love those tambour doors! And a SE 6BQ5 amp (with apparently decent sized iron) is a keeper. I'm getting a BSR vibe from that TT though as they are not my favorites. Definitely worth grabbing if the price is right. And in that condition, worth restoring as a whole. I see that there is but a single cap can on the top of the chassis. The challenge may be finding real-estate under the chassis for the new caps given that this appears to be an integrated amp/preamp/tuner chassis. Nice piece. :thmbsp:

Also produced in the late 50s, just before the advent of FM stereo, as multiplex output and input jacks are available, but I can't tell if there is an mpx unit actual installed.
 
Thanks for the replies. Going to have to see what I can steal it for and then decide what to do with it. It's dusty inside, but in excellent shape. Didn't go over it with a fine tooth, but don't remember any dings, scratches, or physical problems. I do know that the tuner stringing is either off the pulleys or broken. Unit does fire up and sounds good.
