Didn't Harman Kardon make the first stereo receiver back in the 50s? I know they made a tube unit from the late 50s/early 60s.

I dunno, my first stereo receiver was in 1978.
Not only that, but they get REAL hot 'n' use WAY too much electricalty.None have been made since the Johnson administration, & nobody wanted 'em even back then. In short, only a 1st-class DORKFISH would have anything that has Tubes in it...
... The tuner section used AM & FM for "stereo" reception, i.e not FM Multiplex Stereo. This was obviously not the first stereo amp, or first stereo transmission etc., but supposedly the first all-in-one Hi-Fi tuner, pre-amp & power amp.
