Suggestions for using Shopvac for record cleaning?

I'm getting started on a major record cleaning binge and would like to use my Shopvac as part of the process. What is anyone using on the end of the hose for this purpose? I could invent something myself I suppose, but why re-invent the wheel?

Mine is just velvet on the crevice nozzle...

Pretty much the same for me except I use a conical (flat on top) nozzle. Cover the labels with Bondo dent-pullers, scrub, then vacuum in clockwise (or counter-clockwise if you're in Australia) circles.
 
I use a crevice tool, I plugged the end and cut a slit down the long edge side. And then glued velvet to the sides of the tool.I have an old cheap belt drive TT without the tonearm. I spin the platter manually, apply my fluid and work it with my Osage brush, and vac it off. Works pretty good.

Same here with microfibre cloths. Move to a "new" section of the cloth after each "wash" cycle for the new "rinse" cycle. Next wash cycle on the previous rinse cycle section and so on.

Mine is similar to other slotted ones pictured here, and its the only way to go, for me. Very happy with the results. Cutting the slot in the plastic was easier than I thought it would be. I used a Dremel.
 
I'm spotting a trend here. Time to go and hunt down a tip or two for the Shopvac that haven't been contaminated with everything under the sun.
 
I use the oval brush attachment I got in an accessories kit. Mounted it to a tonearm in place of a cart. Works great.

This is a great idea and very cost effective. You can also obviously use it for wet and dry applications. Why would anybody buy a record cleaner when you can make one of these from your existing Shop Vac?:thmbsp:

Here is my DIY RCM. I can adjust the angle so it sits flat on the record. Sucks nearly every drop off the record. I have the hose going to a catch jar. John

Yes they do. I also have a vacuum shop not far from me that might have some bits about that I could grab as well as they're always willing to do you a favour if you have some interesting project going.

What's providing the suction for your set-up? I see a hose headed off elsewhere. Do you have it attached to a Shopvac or something with a reducer?
