JVC R-S33 Tuner bulb went

Lost the leftmost tuner display bulb.
anybofy got bulb values or a source?

Here's the big problem, the bulb is glued to two wies..no socket

any help is appreciated

You can't measure the current the bulb requires if the bulb is dead. More likely than not, the physical size of the bulb will give us a very good indication of the current draw.

You CAN measure the voltage to the bulb no problem...but if there is a limiting resistor for current, then the voltage you measure will be a lot higher than what the bulb actually gets. If this is just a backlight for the tuner display, then it probably does not have a limiter.

Head over to Parts Express and see if you can't find a bulb that looks close...
 
thank you echowars, i'll take a look at the page. It is a tuner display backlight (i suck at wording)

anopther one of the three toasted itself so i have one working bulb. Is it possible to measure that one, or not?

Also, if it's only 12V, could it be replaced by LED's and resistors?

That 12 volts is AC, you would have to rectify and Filter it to use LED'S.
Your local Radio Shack may even have a bulb for it.
