Anybody heard both and can give me some comparisons on which they liked better and why? Greatly appreciated.

Infinity QLS vs RS 2.5 Speakers

the 2.5 will come off as a more transparent and faster speaker, while the QLS will be fuller, bigger, and effortless sounding. i've heard them coined as a very "romantic" sounding vintage speaker - that may be exaggerated, but they ARE on the romantic side of neutral. unless in a large room with a stable floor, the QLS will probably be pretty overwhelming if not somewhat disappointing. they are ridiculously inefficient, but the CA-400 would be good for them though - they sound excellent with one huge-ass amp.

Do you have the opportunity to acquire one or the other Retro?
One thing to bear in mind is the age of either pair and the level of refurb done, if any. Cdfac summed it up pretty well, and he should know since he did a top-to-bottom refurb of his QLS's while he had them, has the power to drive them, and has most likely done the same with his 4.5's.
I for one would be interested to hear how the difference between a dipolar 4.5 and a big box QLS comes accross in a typical listening space.
