RIP 1961-2018
I didn't know Heathkit ever built a 7591 integrated. Anyone know anything about this dude (excsept that the recifier is gassed out)?:D

I bet that's it. Pretty impressive specs, and an interesting tube choice (7199 and EF86).:scratch2: This one was about 30 minutes from the house and only twice it's original kit price, what could I do?:D

Funny, that doesn't look like the reddish Cadillac faced 151. Innards aren't the same either. Go get it, still see Stancor Tx's.

Yeh, I have a couple 151s and this has a totally different look. It's already paid for, just have to get up the gumpshin to make the trip.:D

No, the one Jay's showing is probably older - but Heathkit used to restyle the same basic products (while also changing the model numbers). I don't know the one Jay showed, but I do know the AA-100.

That's what made me look at it twice. I'm not a fan of integrateds or the 7591 in general, but this thing just caught my eye. I guess that's what I get for even looking.:D I have a Fisher KX200 that uses 7591s and has the same funky "center channel". You have to pull about two amps worth of wire out of one of those to get it sounding Hi-Fi. The upside to that is, Fisher used great wire.

Check to see if it uses the same output transformers as the AA-100 (# 51-58). If it does, they are pretty good ones (so I read).

Yep 51-58s, big ol' suckers. She looks to have minumul use, the boards aren't crispy at all, the Mullard 5AR4 is cracked, but the quad of WH 7591s have as good a getter flash as I've seen on this tube number. All the small tubes are original Mullard save for one 7199 that was replaced with an RCA at some point. I'm dying to hook it up, but the bench is just too full right now.:thumbsdn:

Damn close, it's a 60. The more I look at it, the more impressed I become. I'm thinking this is going to be a really nice little integrated. Haven't really looked at the phon stage yet though.
Really? I thought the AA-60 (couple just sold on the 'bay) is a mono preamp, possible mate to the mono AA-61 (similar to UA-1/UA-2). :scratch2:

Maybe they used the same number for different models. :dunno:

How come I'm always correcting myself around you.? It is a 50, my old eyes ain't none too good. But hey you're a girl, you ain't supposed to be so smart about cool stuff like this.:D Just Kidding Just Kidding Just Kidding.:D

Would you believe I dropped it this morning. Luckily I had taken the 7591s that are WH and test like new, out of it. I sacrificed my body and stuck my leg under it to break the fall which help. Now I have a bent corner on the face but I think I can straighten it out on my break. The leg will heal as well.:thmbsp:

Imagine the obituary if gangrene sets in - Local audiophile dies doing what he loves...
