so I am in GW and I see a pair of beat up speakers with ugly grilles,a pattern of indians and all stuff native american. so I pull these grilles off and I spy a 10" seas woofer with rubber surround also there is a dome tweeter with a metal cage and at bottom of spealer is a rectagular port with plastic mesh.I look on back and on the binding post is stamped "made in denmark" these are real ugly but would make a good canidate for refinish,I just dont know who made them. BTW "seas" is stamped on rim of woofer so that is how I was able too identify..

I assume you bought them? Sounds like a good score to me, even of it's only for the drivers. Post some pics for us
 
I'm interested to hear what you think of that SEAS tweeter, the BeoVox 4702's I have seem to have them crossed over pretty high (with another driver filling the midrange as well as a pair of woofers) but the SEAS website recommends them for 1500 - 20000 Hz.

Ok so here is some pics of these super ugly a25s, they sound pretty good but man are they beat up!! one woofer must have been hit or something and I may need to reinforce it, the paper is weak but intact. anybody got an idea they care to share? I also think they have the original grille wood, just with that american indian print, what does the original grille cloth look like? what would you do with this pair? restore? part? I welcome your opinions.
oh yeah they have a three position switch for high range.

Yep, those look like Dynaco A-25's alright. Man that grill cloth is something else. The original cloth was a loose weave off white linen or sometimes a brownish-orange tweed cloth (usually the off white linen, though).

There should be a rotary tweeter switch in the back, I've never seen a pair without it (although there were many variants of this speaker out there).

BTW - That 68 Impala is really sweet!

*Add-on* just read about the tweeter switch. IIRC, I thought it was a 5 step switch (could be mistaken, though).

I did some reading and it stated that the early ones had 3 position switches.These are pretty beat up but I will probably restore them, they may be able to replace two pair of speakers.
yeah my second love is old chevies prettymuch anything from 55 to 72 or so, I can not afford a camaro, chevelle, or even a nova, but fullsizes are still manageable usually. oh yeah my wife is my first love! but notice I write more about cars!
 
Those speakers reminded me of the 70s rock band , Redbone. I think I'll play some in memory of your speaker grills. I'd restore those speakers. I'm waiting for a pair to pop up at the GW/SA here in San Diego.
