I spy what appears to be a 333 tuner and an LC-21 preamp with the later faceplate at the back of that table.

Looks to be some nice Asian art, too.

I gotta chuckle though when the have a single full page shot of some POS Ampex speaker, but only give a couple grand worth of Scott tube tube gear a cursory table view...:lmao:

The estate sale company has recently been exposed to higher value vintage audio gear (I'm on their telephone and e-mail alert lists). Their last sale included a great pair of vintage speaker cabinets populated with premium components. Those ended up in a bidding war after the estate sale was over, and sold for four figures. So I would be surprised if they haven't done their homework, and I would be very surprised if there were any screaming deals on the better components. More likely you'll be able to put your name (and maybe a bid) in for the gems.

It would be nice to see what minor treasures might be buried in the mess, and I bet if there are any really good records they will go at some blanket record price. But I won't be able to find out. I'm heading south tonight for the "March to restore sanity" rally in DC tomorrow. Good luck to whoever makes it to the estate sale.
 
There are also a very large number of camera bags and tripods, and some mention of them in the print ad, but no pictures other than one of a VCR camera. So there might be some good buys in that realm also. They do seem to have spent a lot more effort of BPC and cassette decks (and VCR tapes) than on the very nice vintage equipment there.
 
How did I ever miss the Marantz? The sharp deck caught my eye. RT 4488 which had a retail of $410 back in 79. But it's only a two head design.

Which is why if I can't take a unit I've purchased with me, I pull the tubes...:yes:

Lots of thieves at these places and not enough eyes to watch
 
I know a few people in this area what do estate sales, and it's amazing how much they talk about things being stolen, and also having the police show up and arrest people...

Sad.. because you're stealing from the family of dead people, or terminaly ill most times.. .talk about bad karma..

I always try and be really respectful at estate sales or auctions, but it's amazing how many people don't get it..
