Scored some cool Richard Allan vintage fullrange!

rtfm!? - tl;dr
They were in homemade box, rather crude ones, along with 3 3inch cone tweeters each.

10 inchers, about 7.5 inch cone, nice treated accordion cloth surround, in very good shape overall, just small bits of wood and plastic stuck to the surrounds, seems removeable. Nice cast frame, powdercoated. And I love the binding posts, instead of cheap connectors.

Can't wait to measure T/S parameters and find something to do with'em!

I looked quickly around the web and these seem to be well thought of. Apparently quite sensitive, at around 97dB/W/m; Fs around 48Hz and Qts 0.33. We'll see what my tests yield; if anything like the above, I'm stoked! :D

Woh! Dare I say Scroe lol

How dare you?! ;)

I'm happy with my recent FR findings; Philips AD9710 and now these RA, but why do I have to get lucky like that with winter at our door? (building season over for me) No, that was not complaining.... :)

Lol, the brochure mentions an 'inner tweeter' so I went back to the pi to check for a second set of binding posts... Silly me... ;)

Here are the T/S parameters I measured, average of the two:

Re: 7.35 ohm
Fs: 37.5 Hz
Qts: 0.54 - One driver has 0.50 and the other 0.59
Vas: 114 liters - this is fudgier to measure; I used added mass and this volume is using the cone diameter, without half of the surround, it's closer to specs seen online.
Sd: 293cm^2
BL: 7.6 N/A - extrapolated by WinISD
SPL 92.3 dB/W/m - extrapolated by WinISD

Rolf -- Do you have the brochure for the CG12T's, I have a pair of those. One is 8 ohm, the other 16 ohm. Not sure what to do with them yet. Thanks

Those look good! :thmbsp:

I picked up a Goodman's Axiom speaker not too long ago... it sounds pretty good. Still looking for a mate for it. Otherwise, it'll end up in a mono system.

From my archive.

The 2W for 96dB at 1 meter sensitivity figure in that chart is more representative of my drivers than the 97dB/W/m I've seen elsewhere.

I've started building K12 "Karlsonette" cabinets to use these and other drivers I have in. Will post about this later, when completed.
