Converting a vintage 100V to a 220V by swapping guts?

I have a lead on an interesting deck, and would like to convert it's existing non-US 100V operation to 220V.

It's a late 70's/early 80's Japanese direct drive, and I just happen to have a matching model with bad circuit board.

Do you think it's as simple as swapping out the inner power supply from the american model, to the body/circuit board of the Japanese model?

This is possible - for a Rega Planar I had it was that simple. Also, check to see if there are any jumpers of other indications that it already has dual voltage capability - this is quite common for direct drives, especially any using a DC motor.
 
Swap the transformers, match the output end color leads to the originals after match confirmation with resistance check of windings. Post pics if necessary.
