Does anyone know what this speaker is?? or what it went too??

Its only identified as a pair of "Vintage Speakers"

J, they are Philco electrostatic speakers, and a good pickup if priced right. Make sure they have the power chords intact and don't spark when turned on. And we certainly know the retro market here in St. Louis.

Definitely Philco, my console has the same logo plate on the TT.

Those Philco speakers and Philco electrostatic amps usually fetch a pretty penny...

Philco

You will need the accompanying amplifier to power these-they require additional voltage supplied by amp. I have a 1959 console with those speakers.Been told they sound awesome but unfortunately my amp needs work so Ive never heard them. Stat panel is treble-4 x 10 speaker in base is mids & a 12" woofer in the console. Neat looking for sure!

Nice console....beautiful preamp!

I guess the panels are at their best mounted on some wooden cabinets to get them to ear level.

Got them!!!!

Well I ended up getting them... Probably over paid ($75.00) but hell look at them... How could i resist.

Should be a fun project matching them up with a tuner and amp, gonna be a real nice show piece...

Note: I haven't even cleaned them yet.

God I hope they work

wow! those look great. remember the old predicta TVs. some had remote screen with a thick flat cable to power it up.

Hi! I'm new to AudioKarma.org I've been looking for these speakers for a quite while, for my 1961 Philco H-1814 Console--which only contains the bass speaker. I came across your posts and was so surprised to see that there are still some "out there"! I just missed (by a few days) an e-bay auction selling some. RATS! Do any of you know the best way to "procure" these speakers? Aside from checking ebay, craigslist--do you know of any other organizations or sites that would be useful? Craigslist and eBay, perhaps local estate sales and auctions... They're fairly rare and usually command a premium, at least when sold on eBay.
