Hitachi HA-3500 VU Meter Fuse lamps

Hi,

Does anyone know of some replacemet fuse lamps that will work in this amp.

The originals are frosted marked 8v so bought some 8v 250 ma clear ones.

They are wider (around 6mm,the originals are 4) but managed to open up the cips and solder them in.Problem is with one lamp its not very bright and even worse with both fitted.

Do I need 150ma lamps ? Supply voltage is 8.5 volts.
