I've been working on a little mid-winter project for my brother-in-law and sister-in-law: a 1959 Magnavox Imperial console that they picked up off of Craigslist. As part of the restoration work, I replaced all the resistors and capacitors within the amplifier, replaced a large number of resistors and capacitors within the preamplifier/tuner and replaced the burnt-out lamps, and added a phono preamplifier (TCC-750 with some cap upgrades) and a Technics SL-7 turntable (thanks, Scott!!!) in a custom cradle mount in the turntable well. They should be picking it up this evening. A few photos of the console:

Who veneers the back of a console? I mean really? Evidently Magnavox:
The preamp/tuner showing the power umbilical for the phono preamp and turntable:
The heart of the console - the biamp-stereo 6V6 amplifier:
The matching expander speaker is already delivered, although it won't be connected immediately:
I'm proud of the work I did but I'm a bit sad to see this beauty leave my garage. Hopefully it will serve its owners well!
