sorry to witness such horrible incident.
i know it's about something more than money, but hope you can somehow get your money back.

Holy shite, Nate. When I opened those pics in your email I didn't realize they were yours :yikes:

Dang, thats no way to have a fine pair of Altec woofers like that meet their demise

ZOMG. That is sad.

It does look like art, though, so there could be an upside. MOMA may be interested.

Reminds me of those "artist's conception" paintings of galaxies colliding, somehow...

Way bummer. There's a pair of moose skulls that died in a similar lock, in Rock Harbor on Isle Royale. Almost as sad as the death of these Altecs.

Sorry to see this Nate, what are your options?

Save the motors, cans/covers, terminals, and maybe the voice coils on the formers. I'm sure the basket that isn't broken is also junk at this point, it's geometry is almost certainly whacked beyond repair.

GPA can rebuild them in new style frames, they won't look like the vintage greenies from behind, but the performance will be nearly spot on. Give GPA a call, the cost for a new pair of baskets might pleasantly surprise you.
