Help! Help!!! With Advents

Hey All.

I picked these baby Advents up today for two bucks at gw.Thought they would make excellent computer speakers. I never seen a pair like them before.
They look like full size ola's,but only 12 inches tall.
Can't get the grilles off,don't think they come off.If anyone has seen or had a pair, let me know if they do come off. Don't want to tear them up.

Shining a light in the grille,they look like about 5 or 5 1/2 inch woofers. Got them all hooked up they sound awsome with computer,and the stereo.

If anyone knows anything about these,Please share.

Usually with grills like that I have had success using a butter knife gently prying them loose. Some people use rubber spatulas. If you are concerned about scratching, cover a portion of the knife in a piece of cloth. You may want to add a cloth tab to the bottom so you can pull on that for removal in the future.

Other option is a matchbook cover or similar cardboard wedged between the knife (or similar object) and the wood. Usually a tad easier to work with since you likely won't have to hold the cardboard while working the knife.
 
Yours might be different but I found the grills on my Mini Advents come off easily and with little force if you sort of press down on the center of the grill and lift off one of the sides.
 
I have a nice pair of those.
I tried everything I could to get the grills off. Unfortunately not happening.:no:

I agree,I've tried the butter knife route and those puppys,won't budge.
Unfortunately,all you'll do is tear them up,by trying. So leave well enough alone.There in good shape,don't want to make them look bad.:nono:

Blue tape, credit cards and putty knife. Blue tape to protect side of cabinet. Starting at the bottom gently pry with putty knife enough to slip a credit card to hold the gap. Work up a bit a couple of times and it pops off. Other side lifts off. There is a plastic U channel on the edge of the grill that fits in the slot on the side of the speaker. Now, who has woofer foam?
