After reading through DC's consolidation of DIY RCMs http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=318672, I thought I'd give it a go:
"Rough n' Ready Rekkid Cleanser"
* Apologies if the procedure is unclear and/or too specific to the items used. For inspiration only!*
1. Take a rotisserie oven:
2. Remove motor, controller, rotisserie drive cog. Add a turntable platter. This one is from a Technics deck, driven by a Hall motor. The magnet ring attached under the platter was incorporated into the design.
3. File the edges from a 6mm nut and bang it into the underside of the platter.
4. Drill out location stub from rotisserie cog. The head of the 6mm bolt, rotating in the concave of the stub, will keep the platter centred.
