Someone took the time to re-veneer the case, then did that? Wow.

Must have been trying to match the decor of their home.

Besides for being green, it looks to be in decent condition. Like DCinDC says, stain it black. Problem solved.

Sure brings out the beauty of the wood grain. Kinda resembles a countertop pizza oven. Here's a pic of my custom case in walnut.

I remember someone here posting wacky colors that he painted on the older gear covers a while back. I wonder:scratch2:
To me that price is quite optimistic even without the goofy green.

Actually Yellow makes me sad. Green makes me peaceful.

Kinda dumb to do that IMHO. But no accounting for taste in Walmart USA.

I wouldn't do that to mine, but it doesn't look near as bad as I thought it would. If this was a 1250 or 1980 I would be very upset, but its kinda cool on a lower-end model like this.

That green looks nasty to me but it can be fixed with out much trouble. The SX750 is a nice receiver. I have one and mine has peeling veneer and I'm going to redo it in real walnut when I get the time.

NOOOO! We don't do that to vintage audio gear!!!!! That person should be fined at least if not jailed! (Ok, that may be a bit over the top). I just hate seeing this kind of thing. At least he did a neat job of it, but still it's wrong.

Awhile back, I bought a pair of AR3a's in designer gray to match the lady's decor. Looks like the husband restored them, and the gray got painted over the beautiful walnut....
