O-K, here's my "Racked System".

It's not the:

Best,
Biggest,
Loudest,
Most Expensive
or
Most High End.

It simply gives me what I want, when I want it, exactly how I like it and that's all anyone can ask for out of their audio system!


The equipment (from top to bottom the system consist of the following):

Teac X-1000R Reel to Reel (with customized reel hubs)

American Audio dB-dual LED display signals

Numark DM-1200 Professional Mixer

Magnum Dynalab FT-101A FM Tuner

Magnum Dynalab MD-205 Signal Sleuth (with a Magnum Dynalab ST-2 Antenna located outside on the roof)

Nakamichi NR-200 Noise Reduction Unit

Numark EQ2600 Stereo Frequency Equalizer Tone Computer Display

Pioneer PD-M435 CD player

Pioneer PD-M430 CD player

Pioneer RT-707 Reel to Reel (with small rubber Pioneer reel hubs)

Bose 901 Series V Active Equalizer (it is required for 901 speakers, currently can't been seen in these pictures, hidden behind racked equipment).

Bose 802C II System Controller (required for 802 Series II speakers, can't be seen here because it was added later on, replaced the original Bose 802C System Controller, older version)

Bose 1800 Series V Professional Power Amplifier, at 450 watts per channel (powers a pair of Bose 802 Series II speakers)

Carver PM-1400 Power Amplifier, at 475 watts per channel (powers another pair of Bose 802 Series II speakers, added later, the speakers nor the power amplifier can't be seen in these original pictures, they were added at a later date)

Kenwood Basic M2A Stereo Power Amplifier, at 220 watts per channel (powers all four 901 Series V speakers)

Bose Bluetooth recently added to system (so that one can play music off their phone!)


The speakers:

Bose 901 Series V speakers with stands (total of 4 of Bose 901 Series V speakers now, second pair was added at a later date)

Bose 802 Series II speakers (total of 4 Bose 802 Series II speakers now, second pair was added at a later date)


All housed in an H-82' x D-22' x W-22' metal cabinet.

All equipment are plugged into a Tripp-Lite Model: PS4816 power strip, 48" inches in length, with 16 outlets at 15 amps circuit breaker, which is attached inside the backside of the metal cabinet.

Sweet.... how does the 1800 sound. Ive always wanted to hear one of those things. Sounds like you have a nice rig going.

I am having a problem posting pictures (I've never done so before) I thought that I had done so, apparently not!
As for the 1800 it is simply 'AWESOME'! It can deliver that power when you want it, believe me.

That will get the job done. 802's and 901's? What type of placement for them? Photobucket works for me concerning pictures.

Thanks! I have had those model Pioneer cd players since the late 80's and I just don't want to give them up simply because I like the way they handle. Six pack cd cartridge for each one. I have a JVC XL-M600 cd player that I felt was even better, 6 pack cartridge along with a single player slot but it is not functioning properly and just have not sent it in for repair or see if I can repair it myself?! If I get it repaired I'd swap it out for one of the Pioneers. The speakers, well as you can see the 901's are on the original stands and I just placed the 802's on top, they sound fantastic!

Beautiful but would scare the crap out of me, that's a lot of equipment high off the floor in a very narrow rack... EEK I would constantly worry about it falling over.

Since I last posted about my Racked System there have been a couple of updated changes added.

One being is that another pair of Bose 901 Series V were added, which makes a total of 4 901 Series V speakers. Also added another pair of Bose 802 Series II speakers which also makes a total of 4 Bose 802 Series II speakers (as previously mentioned above).

Along with that a Bose 802C II System Controller Series (which replaced the original one) was added as well. It replaced the original Bose 802C System Controller.

To drive the second pair of Bose 802 Series II speakers which were added, a Craver PM-1400 Power Amplifier (475 watts per channel) was added to the rack to support them.

As for the Teac X-1000R being on top, I guess I can understand your way of thinking. Believe me, I thought and figured out everything before hand. This is not something that I decided to do on the spur of the moment. "For me" the X-1000R was not a problem the weight on the rack system is definetly situated to where it is all balanced out. Plus the support that it has (X-1000R) is not a problem, I can sleep at night without having to think about it.

As a matter of fact the whole system was based on the fact that the X-1000R would be on top. There is a 'special support bracket' for it. You see the weight distributed vertically through out the entire cabinet is really not centered on top or front. The weight of the Pioneer RT-707 (very heavy), along with the Bose 1800 (extremely heavy) and Kenwood M2A (very heavy) power amplifiers, combined out weighs the X-1000R, so in turn the weight is factored toward the base of the entire cabinet. Also I can roll it around with no problems since it sits on rollers.
