A few weeks back I went to an estate sale in the area to pick up some furniture. I was distracted by a pair of speakers and missed out on the furniture I went to get. I did grab this fine piece of maybe custom made furniture
I couldn't open the top as it had a bunch of stuff on it for sale so I stuck my arm in the back and felt the sleek design of a vacuum tube. At this point I grabbed the sale tag off and put a sold tag on. I cleared off the top and opened it up to see this
A nice SAE preamp (IXB), a low end but kinda cool auto Kenwood tuner (KT-413) and a tube Ampex R2R unit.
Being a bit let down there was not a sweet tube preamp and tuner in it I quickly pulled it away from the wall to reveal the amp
A McIntosh MC225 in dusty but good condition. She is all cleaned up now and awaiting packaging for a trip to Terry DeWick for a full overhaul.
