I'm developing a manual (non-motorized) version that should sell for half the price of the motorized.

First impression is it cleans as well as the motorized version.

Price is $150 including shipping.

I'm still working on a manual version. I've tried a less expensive turntable, but I'm not entirely happy with it.

I'm thinking $90 for the same TT without the motor. Maybe $120 with the motor, but you wire it. It takes me about an hour to cut holes for the power connector and switch, install them and solder the connections.

This requires a Dremel with a cutting bit. It's like dentistry. The power connector isn't round, so it's a pain.

The first time I tried to drill a switch hole, I cracked the base. You have to start with a small hole and enlarge it. Fast cutting bits risk damaging the TT base.

The TT is ABS plastic. It looks cheap, but it isn't . It's nearly indestructible in use. It survives dropping on the floor with no problem.

At the moment they're made to order. About two days. I have an inventory of everything but the turntables.

This Labor Day weekend I'll be travelling.

After a couple of months of re-tooling I am back making Vinyl Magicians.

I ran into trouble with motor binding, because the coupler connecting the turntable to the motor was hard to get centered and square.

I have had a jig machined to solve this problem, and I have five machines in the works. The motors are running without slowing or binding.

I will try to notify individually the people who have expressed interest, but I am starting with this announcement.

It has been difficult to figure out how to solve this manufacturing problem. I couldn't justify spending a lot on machine tools, because the sales volume is low. I appreciate the interest, and I hope to keep customers satisfied, including past customers.

I have also modified the wand holder so the height is adjustable, making it easier to cope with records of varying thickness.

That is great news that you are working the bugs out of the motor binding problem and are still planning to construct these machines. I also like the idea of the adjustable vacuum wand holder. Seems to go together now without all the fiddling with the motor.

Since this is the official thread, linked from eBay and the AK ad, this seems to be the place to say that if any early buyers have motor trouble. I'll fix it or exchange it for the price of postage.

That includes people that are not the original buyers.
