Sherwood S-1900 speaker opinions

I just picked up a pair of them and don't know anything about their characteristics or quality. I picked them up on a lark. I'm wondering if anyone know anything about them.

I would like to see a pic of them. I don't recall Sherwood ever making speakers, but then I didn't know Ortofon made speakers until I learned it here last week.

Gotta love AK!

These appear to be from a successor company of the original Sherwood. I've never heard them so I don't know how they sound, sorry.

BTW, the original Sherwood company was based in Chicago and made a number of speakers including the Ravinia and Tanglewood. Here's a thread on the older Ravinia speakers: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/sho...erwood+ravinia

Another informative thread: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/sho...erwood+ravinia

I have some old MusiCraft (now defunct, small Chicago stereo shop chain) house speakers that were made for MusiCraft by the original Sherwood company. I posted about them here: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/sho...ight=musicraft

Finally hooked these up to my Sansui G-6000 and put on some vinyl that I was familiar with. I don't know if it's this particular set or the line in general but I found them to be a bit flat and tinny in the mid range. Sound staging was ok but unimpressive. I'll be replacing them eventually.

those look surprisingly similar to my Kenwood LSP-9500 speakers especially the double woofers and tweeters, in mine both woofers are active and actually pound out some nice bass but i found top end to be a bit hot, good party speakers though.

I don't know if the miss need to be replaced but as I said a bit flat, the base is passive but was pretty good
