Hi all,
Inspired by Andy's build http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=363617
I have decided to DIY B1 for myself.I can get the PCbs and most of its parts locally,but not sure about matching JEFTs.I am completely noob in electronics but can solder well.I have built a CNC DIY phono pre with the help of some AK members.Can anyone suggest me matching JEFTs for B1.

Hi all,
I have stuffed my Pass B1 board.I also build reulated power supply and Lightspeed Attenuator.I have got all the boards made locally.

I have completed my B1 with LSA and DIY PS designed by Ak member Omishra.Its sounding great,no colorization,pure sound.I have followed BOM from AK member Marrantzfan

This may be a little off topic, but I'd appreciate it if you will post more details of your assesment of the LDR's performance.

What does it give you that an Alps pot cannot?

What qualities of the LDR would make me want to integrate one into my system?

It was probably dumb of me not to request an LDR PCB along with the OPS board that you just sent. Hindsight......

OK. I have read several of these articles. Just thought that you could tell us something about the difference you noticed between the CNC and your current setup. Switching from the CNC to the Pass B1 & LDR makes that somewhat subjective.

Hi Steve,
The difference is very noticeable,putting B1 between CNC and power amp makes sound very clear and transparent.I want to add one thing that R-core trafo with this powersupply is dead silent.There is absolutely no sound from transformer.

I have something to say.
What I got is -
1. Compared with new stereo pot, these LSA has trimmers to match perfectly same level in both channels.
2. Compared with 5 year old stereo pot, these are way better and I can notice clean sound in LDR based system. HF are clean and LF are evident. Mid is real life. Somehow details are felt with silent background as well. With pot it was like something is lost.
3. Compared with 25year old stereo pot, I can see wiper of old pot doing so much attenuation of details in mid and HF.

Overall, degradation is absent and Volume Control is invisible in the chain. Also main advantage is, at my usual listening level I matched both channels to same volume level by using 5VDC in place of audio as input. Then coming back to audio input they are perfectly balanced - imaging as well as details. Still keep in mind - unmatched LDRs have different resistances with same current. Also rate of change of resistance value may differ with current change.
