(Office rig: iTunes (320 kbps) > Mitsubishi DA-R10 receiver > JBL L26 Decades on cheapo Omnimount stands cut down to 14". Upgraded sound card and Troels L26 crossovers on the not-too-distant horizon.)

Nice office. All I have is a crappy pair of Gateway 2000-branded multi-media speakers. Well, they're better than my laptop speakers.

Nice digs, though. Office in a building or home office?
 
Thanks! It's a "real" office in a classic old building, on the ninth floor. The owner is remodeling it tastefully floor by floor, keeping the old flavor. (Real plaster walls, wainscoting, crown moldings, light fixtures, glass doors, brass hardware, etc.)

I oiled the JBLs and they came with new foam already. I'm going to cut out some orange foam 3/8" discs to recreate the little wiring tabs on the tweeter bezels. :D

Very nice!! Plaster and wood lath walls might even allow you to turn it up a little louder than dry wall.
 
Yes, I have a feeling I could play them a wee bit louder than I am; right now I have them at about 1.5 on a ten scale. Nice bass though. :D I love the variable loudness control on the DA-R10.

I just got woofers and X-overs out of some L-26's.I have new surrounds for the woofs and I think I want too try that mod....(Do you have the link?) Not sure on tweets at this point but I will be making some custom cabs for this project :thmbsp:. Will just take my time and do a nice job on these. (when the time comes :yes:)

Hey, that's my old school. Good school. I used to live right off of Van Ness and Sierra.

Anyway back to the OP. That is a good looking office. I had Decades years ago and liked them. They certainly are nice looking speakers.
 
Ha; my wife and her sister went there, too. My wife graduated in 1980 I think.

And thanks! It's in the old Trade Center Building, by the Fulton Mall. The owner is doing a great job restoring it.

I just realized there were three different Decades: L16, 26 and 36. I've owned each of the latter two.

I have a nice new "audiophile" stereo sound card on order for my office PC; should be here soon. :D

I'm glad something is getting restored in downtown Fresno. I know my dad has been involved with the Warnor's Theater. I like historic buildings. I'm still upset that they tore down the original court house. The B of A Building and the Security Pacific Building probably need renovation. Oh, is there much business DT other than government and legal? I used to visit an Irish bar in the Del Webb building after FSU basketball games at Selland.

What sound card did you get?

I bought a used M-Audio Audiophile 2496 24-bit 96KHz PCI Card for about $55 on "that auction site." I hope it works on my old Dell running XP.

My office is right across the street from Warnor's! I think my father-in-law might have been consulted on that renovation; he's an architect. Downtown seems nowadays to be mostly civil service stuff like government and public legal; not too much private sector I guess. One cool thing is that there are a lot of new lofts and night clubs opening up. My buddy recently opened Fulton 55, which has a lot of live music.

Otoh, since I went to Clovis Hi, I'll have to go back to the old saying...

"We may have lost the game, but we won the fight!". :D
