MA6600 Integrated: okay to keep meters lit?
..Lovin' my new MA6600 Integrated!
Curious to know the life expectancy of the meter LED's? ..I would love to keep the meters lit at all times, but if the amp is running 5-6 hours/ day, would it be better to leave the meter light off? ..Also, how difficult is it to change the LED once it does burn out? ..As an FYI, the Mac website indicates that the MA6600 uses LED light source rather than a bulb. thanks! I've had an LED alarm clock that has been on for 20 years straight and still stays lit. LEDs have indefinite lifespan. I wouldn't worry about leaving them on in the slightest.

Actually, the average LED has an MTBF of ~50,000hr. Still a good long time. And, who knows.......... maybe McIntosh uses long-life LEDs.

So... 50,000hrs/5hrs a day= 10,000 days/365= 27 years. 27 years x McIntosh's overkill margin factor of 7.834999 = ...yea, you're ok
