Help! What is this type of velcro fastener???

I am drawing a blank on what this type of velcro fastener. Hell, it may not be velcro but you get the idea. I need this same shape almost for my Infinity Quantum 3's to hold the grills on better. I have this attachment on the posts coming off of the speakers but the sections on the grills are missing and have been since I got them. Using just basic velcro doesn't hold on.

Thanks for any help. Here's a picture off of another speaker I have that uses the same type.

Looked at as being a more commercial "type" of fastener. I have a roll of it 3M
around here somewhere.
 
It might, but usually they have the same stuff on either side... kind of mushroom-shaped heads that interlock with the same shapes on the other side. Not hook/loop like most Velcro.

Yep. They look about the same on both sides. I'm not near my Infinity's so I can't look at them but I know the material looks the same. Thank you guys for the input and if you come across 8 round pieces of that stuff that can be screwed or stapled down, let me know! :D
 
Aha!! Based on the 3M dual lock comment by jdurbin1, I located it at Digikey for about $.27 each for a .811" round screw down capable piece. Sweet! Now I just need to see how much space is there on the grills where it will attach. Heck, it might be that I need the larger pieces since on the Quantum 3's, the area where it goes is kind of a triangle shape.

The there are the 1.5" squares I could cut into the rectangle shape. Hmmm.... :scratch2:
 
That's them ! They are the same type of fastener used on my Model 19's. Altec used these on other models as well 17,18's IIRC etc...

I have a bunch of those Thanks to a AK member ! :banana: Who was nice enough to sell me a bunch so I could replace them on my 19's.With new ones you need a crowbar to remove the grills now.What a difference they make.While they are loose you can't put them together they are that difficult to get apart.

Ordered from Digikey today. I can't wait to get this stuff in so those grills will finally stay on as intended! It's only been 3 years putting up with it! :D
 
Have to give Wikipedia props for that one... I knew the material fromhaving used it, but found the actual product name in the Wiki article on Velcro under "Variations on Velcro".
