Bumped.
Just want to make sure the word gets out and people at least have an idea of who they are dealing with when considering buying from this entity.

Pictures in the ads are different from his prior ones. What is tipping you off this is the same character?

No these are the same setting he has used in the past several "incarnations" ago, that appear to be in his backyard. He used to set the items on a small childs play table. This is going back probably 5 years ago when he used to take them in the backyard. Most recently I agree he would always take them indoors. No it's the same guy and the SAME gear. High end Sansui, Accuphase, Kenwood etc...

It used to be "I am selling some things for my Papi Chulo" this time it's "I am doing some spring cleaning" Have you taken a good look that list of items he's selling?! Spring cleaning eh? More like a Hi-Fi boutique's warehouse liquidation! I would ONLY do local pick up with this guy.

Here's another problem: The pictures all appear to be taken within Spring or Summer. I don't think, it's that green in NYC yet. :scratch2: I am telling you this is the one and same guy back at it. :smoke:

Well done elroy.

When I was warning people about this guy years ago,I said:

"Remember the photos."

I'm sure that he recycles the photos.

Ok, I'm late to the game, here. What does this guy do? Collect money and not ship, or what? Has anyone been burned by him?
Sorry for the newb questions, but I don't get it.

There is a link in the first post of this thread,it will lead to other threads about this same character stretching back to 2003.

The problem with this guy is sometimes he delivers as promised but many times there is foul play on his part. He notoriously packs very poorly and has been accused several times of sending equipment that was obviously nowhere near as described before he packed it, then intentionally packs poorly and blames his not "as described" unit on shipping damage. That's just one example, he has done many things along these lines that are simply dishonest. In the early days I believe he used to flat out not ship things and claim he did but as years passed his dishonesty grew more manipulative and elusive in nature.

He simply time and time again proves to be untrustworthy for long distance deals and having him ship. His pattern is to start up under a new name and keep on the straight and narrow for awhile then he always strays and ends up screwing people and eventually gets shut down which has happened MANY times over the years,

On top of all of that he's consistantly rude and abusive. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

I suspect he is a broker. He likely secures a sale, buys the item located in Japan, and then has the item drop shipped.

That just begs for a huge headache if something is damaged crossing the ocean. :thumbsdn:

In fairness, some of his transactions have worked out, there are some reports of happy buyers. However, there are more than a few reports of surprises that went totally unresolved. I suppose being rude and surly during the sales process is one way to discourage buyers from seeking redress.

The more that people familiarise themselves with his methods, the wiser they will be about what the others are seeing:

Regular repeat episodes of activity. Each time under a new 'name'(different).

Followed by exposure as the long-standing internet audio fraud and/or accumulation of bad feedback.

The enterprise is scuttled, the account is closed with the perpetrator going to ground.

The cycle repeats again after a period of no activity. He assumes a new ID and starts the whole charade over again.

We watch for the modus operandi, and the photos.Sure enough, year after year, the shark is still in the water.

Watch your toes.

No worries, I would never buy from this guy nor recommend him.

I'm wondering.....

He obviously has (most of) the equipment he's selling since the pictures are all taken in the same spot, either indoors or outside, so....

Where does he get all this rather high end stuff?

That's the $64,000 question! It does seem, as has been mentioned, that he sources a lot of it straight from Japan. If you do dare try and buy from him I would do pick up only with a FULL DEMO and ask lots of questions beforehand. A good place to start is whether it's US 120V voltage. I'd say a lot of these items are Japan 100V. What you would probably run into is he would start to get irritated and rude, that's the experience I had with him once and what I have heard several others say about there experience with him.
