Of Canadian interest i think.

Dont see a great many of these about.

Very heavy and well made, maybe 40-50 wpc.

Needs a light in the meter fixing, and the FM wont seem to kick into Stereo.
But apart from that a very nice unit, no idea of date, very little info seems to be out there apart from the Planar series that turn up now and again.

Ive got one, and never could scare up anything too much about it. Nice unit and yeah, its not light. I had trouble with the fm stereo till I cleaned things a few times, then I got stereo.
Ive seen a few for sale on CAM for small money...sort of the old Realistic jinx on I suspect.

I will have another go at getting the FM stereo to work later on today.

Being born and brought up in England i had never heard of this brand until i came to Canada, and so i don't seem to have the notion tat it is all low quality stuff that a lot of people here seem to.

It does look like a piece of Realistic gear of the mid 70's era, i would love to know who made it.

I think gear like this will never be worth much because its not one of the "Name" brands, like the Sears and LXI units you sometimes come across here, many of them great bits of gear, but utterly worthless in money terms.
 
When I first saw the Electrohome brand I immediately thought it was part of Electobrand, one of the most BOL electronic makers out there. About as good as Sound Design products.
But Electrohome is a little different. It has a bit of a following in Canada. They even made home console stereos which were popular at the time.

I bought a huge Electrohome organ from my local thrift a couple of years ago for $20, i stripped all the tubes out of it and the stereo tube amp and sold them, made quite a pretty penny.
 
Cool, I'm fond of E-home as well. There is a tube console pull on c/l in Van I'm thinking about trying.
 
Very nice! Got lots of Electrohome tube gear but you rarely see this era of solid state gear. My guess is that they were not very popular.
 
Electrohome C400

I have one of this unit. It sound very clean. I am a repair technician. I just try to under stand the unit. it is OTL type amplifier. That is why it sound clean. compare to my Akai AA1050 the C400 sound is more realistic. It has been build with high quality aspect. But in this funny world some time the unit like this become unrecognised. although the build quality is good the knobs seems very cheap in quality. . I like to have the schematic if any body have it please.!?
 
Another well known OEM in stereo receivers is Hitachi. Who also made some receivers for Fisher pre Sanyo era, Radio Shack, and possibly others. This may be Hitachi sourced but may well be Foster made.
