This package arrived on my doorstep this morning. Unfortunately, it's only staying a while at Jailtime's Vintage Audio Resort. This cool little Marantz is the property of AK's own marantzfan. Anthony sent it to me for a full restoration.

Wonder what's in that box? The expanding foam packs are neat stuff, there wasn't a whole lotta shakin' goin' on in here.

It's a beauty, blue scope model too. Stay tuned for a restoration thread with lots of pictures once I get the parts order in.

Lol. I opened the thread on my smartphone and wondered why you were excited about a box of plummer's putty.
Then the screen adjusted. Worthy unit for restoration :)
 
Glad to see it got there unscathed.

What you guys can't see in the pictures is that there is not a scratch on this guy anywhere. It is probably the most cosmetically perfect Marantz receiver that I have ever seen. On top of that, I got it for a nice price so I decided to have it rebuilt.

Can't wait to see what Kyle does with it. :thmbsp:

Haven't powered it on myself yet, but Anthony told me it doesn't work. The tube itself rarely fails, likely bad parts in the HV power supply.

Fun stuff, hope it's not the tranny, I haven't seen a 4400 transformer for sale, i've been looking for a while. I gotta agree with Anthony, it looks pristine.

Well, that makes things interesting. If the scope tube had power then I'd suspect driver board or maybe p800, maybe it's just off center due to a blown transistor. There's a couple of fuses that connect transformer to the scope , otherwise the transformer might be pooched or the tube for that matter. JT will work it out i'm sure. This is different from my 18, no fuse protection in the scope circuit.

I'll take some pretty pictures of it later in the restoration. It is really nice though.

The P800 is pretty well baked in this one. Marantz used some under spec transistors in the power supply in these too, they're probably done for.
