Sorry if someone has done this already,* but for those who collect speakers or go through a lot of them, what's on your list for future acquisitions?

If I have the time and money, someday I hope to own, in no particular order:

  • Altec/GPA 604s
  • JBL L50s
  • JBL L166 Horizons
  • JBL L212s
  • JBL 4430s
  • JBL L300 Summits
  • Altec Model 14s
  • Altec Model 19s
  • Altec A7s or VOTTs of some sort
  • Magnepans of some sort
  • Dahlquist DQ-10s
  • Quads of some sort
Some of these models I want to collect simply because I lusted for them when they were new, but most of them I'd actually like to use for my listening room.

(* I have a bad feeling someone has.)

My personal list is just a condensed version of yours. I'd like to own just about any on your list, but these in particular are my holy grails.
 
I'd like to hear some Klipschorns, the giant Apogee electrostats, the Nautilus', and the 30yr mortgage Wilsons. Not sure I'd ever be inclined to devote enough space to really accommodate any of them, but I'd like to hear them in my house a time or two.
 
A must-have bucket-list is different from a must-listen-to bucket-list.

I plan to own a decent pair of electro-statics but don't know which ones until I can afford them, or some appear on Craiglist.

As for my listen-to list, I plan to go to one of the big audio conventions and knock a few off the list.
 
what i own...im happy enough with them....im kind of getting to the point where most i would buy will be a lateral move. or even down wards. The L166 i bought are a pair that i am not sure are a lateral move in regards to what i already have. But i had to find out...Koss CM 1020 are some great sounding speakers...So are M&K S1B's. Not to mention the Monitor gold 12's...the smaller infinitys arent any slouches either...sigh...where to begin.

Im sure there are better speakers out there. But they would most likely be way beyond my pay scale...:D To quote a particular politician...:D Please no mention of it any more?:D

This'll never work, none of the speakers I want will fit in a bucket. :no: :D ;) I'm already pretty spoiled on speakers, but I wouldn't mind some big Altecs or JBLs or Infinities or .....:D
