Soundbarrier is a manufacturer of Pro-audio gear...dunno if these are from the same company or not.

I got these (1 w/dead tweeter) for 20$ and sound surprisingly well, pretty good bass for their size. No info on web whatsoever. The tweeter seems familiar, so perhaps one of you know? The speakers specs: 4 ohm, 30 watt rms, made in japan, seems like cast aluminum, pretty much same size as minimus 7. Different drivers however.

No tools to pull them apart and measure coil's resistance (to see what's wrong). I hope it's just something loose or bad xover component, but it doesn't look that way. It was more than likely dropped (bent grill), does that kill tweeters?

woofer has cloth surround inverted design, shiny dust cap.

tweeter fixed, broken wire from bobbin to solder point. Managed to fix as per:

woofer was a PITA to take off, some tacky glue was used to hold drivers in place....this has since petrified and become a hardened epoxy like cake. Will have to bend back the basket where i had to pry against it...

6mfd 60 w riken cap 0.26 mH L-200-1 inductor

7 3/16'' x 4 1/2 x 4 5/16 enclosure

i'm thinking these were more of an A/D/S, Braun clone than a minimus clone. The tweeter indeed looks like the ADS minus the stamping.. and this one is made in Japan.
 
ok so acoustic guitar, piano, and vocals are pretty damn good on these things. I can even live w/the bass....enjoying some cat power; silky smooth on female singers.
 
The Soundbarrier that I worked with when I was in the OEM world was basically a distributor for Florida, Caribbean, and Central America. I don't think they actually made anything, they bought OEM stuff and distributed it. I know that's not a lot of help. They did give me a cool jacket once.
