Those look like something special. That's how I discovered the SB-7000A's I have. They looked like something special and they turned out to be superb.

Any pics without the grills? Looks like they may be some of the nicer ones they made.

I have some doubts about them being Technics. But,there's something familiar about them, like they've been posted here before.

I'd also say they are something special, as dumptruck said they don't look like any Technics speakers i'v seen either but they would be well worth investigating and maybe someone will recognize them.

Any idea on the number of drivers, size, price, etc? They certainly look like they are worth a look.

I saw an ad for a single SB-10000 on Colorado Springs CL while looking for more info on the OP's speakers. Looks like that ad has its own D&S post.

Unique looking speakers! I wonder what sort of design and drivers they have.

Try to get more info, I'd be very interested in what these are.

Thanks for replies.
Waiting for reply. They are 17" x 24" x 36" big.
BTW, what Technics speaker models are good?
Anything with SB-###?
I have seen few Technics floor speakers in CL and they are not even worth $10 but none of them were big like these.

Nope, that's pretty much all of them. You kind of have to do your research, although if it has horns or if the drivers are set back for time-alignment, that's a good sign. Their good ones are pretty rare in the US, far as I know.

The cabinets look very similar to Altec 14's.

For $50 that would be a nice score.

Edit: The seller says they are 36 x 24 x 17. The Altecs are 30 x 21 x 16.5

I love that altec santana look.

Who said 50 bucks? I'd be all over that since I don't do woodworking...

Mystery better start buying this stuff or Imma drive out there with a VAN!

I'd buy those in a heartbeat even if they were empty! Econowave babay!

$50? Get 'em. My first thought was Altec with homemade grills too, but the middle part looks too wide. Maybe they are homebrew 19s with Technics woofers :D.

Maybe they're chalk full of Altec drivers but the seller thinks Altec and Technics are the same thing?!!? Hey, a guy can dream right!?

Altechnics!?

I'm haunted by the thought that i have seen these before, seems like there were 5 or 6 cone or phenolic ring tweeters across the top section. Could also be something in the smoke.

Haha... I really doubt you'll drive all the way here.
If you really do, I'll pay for the speakers. :D
Still waiting for seller's reply.
