The circuit in question is contouring the frequency response of the system where the paralleled 75uf cap and .5mH inductor go into circuit resonance (items 16 and 17 on the drawing).

In this case, you'd want to keep the cap values the same, and in the same positions in the circuit.

I suspect there were so many revisions to the crossover on the RS 1.5 because of the cone driver replacing the Peerless soft dome:scratch2:
I like the cone driver in this 1.5 perhaps more so than the Peerless.

Hmm, I thought RS1.5's always had that polypropylene cone. There was another variant?

I come up with a resonance frequency of 822Hz for 75uf and .5mH. In this circuit configuration (a parallel LC circuit, which has the opposite effect on impedance that the series LC circuit on Coil #2 of a Watkins woofer does), no frequency information would pass at and around 822Hz (depending on the Q arrived at when considering the relative values of the two compontnts). But, that 2.7ohm resistor allows it to pass with 2.7ohms of resistance; in other words, it's an attenuation/frequency response contour circuit. Does that make sense?

Thanks for the explanation as it makes sense as the mid seems to be passing info below 822Hz, but that's a subjective guess on my part.

Yes, the RS 1.5 always employed the same driver. I was referring to the 1.5 earlier counterpart , the Quantum 5. I'm pretty sure the RS 1.5 was the first time the cone driver, for midrange, was employed.
