Very rare Kenwood on the Gon

From my brief research this is rarest of rare, TOTL. Maybe someone is interested, price seems ok for such a piece.

1982 - 1985 ... early 80's design and is quite unobtainable, thats the first one I've seen in a long time.

Accuphase was started circa 1974 or possibly before. Yes, the company was started by some of the top guns from Kenwood at that time but way before those Kenwood pieces were ever made. Cool and possibly rare....yes, Accuphase...likely not.

Exactly what I was thinking! If it were an Accuphase, it wouldn't SAY Kenwood on the faceplate!!

Same seller just popped up with a couple of very rare Sansuis, absolutely gorgeous. Either a collector of some of the best, or something else. Infer what you want.
No connection whatsoever.

That seems like a very reasonably price (if in good shape) for something that is essentially unobtainable.

better make sure this seller out of brooklyn isn't the one infamous for non-disclosure about the actual condition and operating voltage of the Japanese-mainland units he sells...

I doubt that you'll ever see a pair of L-06Ms outside of Japan.

I'd be asking the seller of the L-02a whether it was a 100v unit.

sure you could use a step-down transformer, but some say that step-down/up and isolation transformers suck the dynamics out of high-current devices like amps. i haven't tried it myself so i don't know whether to believe it or not.

Could a variac rated at 15 amps(standard household outlet current)work to adjust to 100 volts?

Don't know if one will rob the dynamics though.
