Welcome all to the music forum....

Imagine that, I get home from a hard day's work, well, not all that hard, but anyway.....and lo and behold, I have joined the esteemed ranks of Thor,Thoots and the other big, bad and all knowing moderators. Funny thing though, I don't feel any bigger, badder and I sure don't know all that much more. Maybe it takes a day or so for the smarts part to kick in.
I hope that this forum will become a place where we can discuss all types of music and formats, I enjoy all aspects of music and formats, though vinyl is King. New finds are great and scores of "new" minty or not so minty LP's,cd's etc. Basically anything musical goes, As long as Thor quits singing that is
Anyway, I thought I would fill you in on my musical tastes, not that anyone really cares, but I just feel like taking up bandwidth tonight.
As for my own musical tastes, eclectic and varied would be putting it a bit mildly. My first love is most definetely 60'/70's rock.
Zep,Sabbath,Floyd, etc. I really dig Bob Seger, Heart,Fleetwood Mac, Never met either of their albums I could pass up.
Though on any given day I may be listening to anything from Bob Marley to Prince,to Roger Miller or Glen Miller. I even have been known to turn a reel or two of the New Christy Minstrels, did you know that Kenny Rogers was in that group. Gordon Lightfoot and Helen Reddy are in the perenial rotation, as well as Neil Diamond, no Barry Manilow though, I am rebelling from my wife. It seems that as soon as she digs an album the fun goes out of it, of course that could be because she is a big Nick Gilder fan, remember him? Hint: he was a Hot Child in the City, or so my wife tells me.
Anyway, if it spins I can dig it, as long as it isn't classical, I just get all fidgety when I put classical on, maybe my system just won't do it justice. I mostly spin Vinyl and R2R when I can get my hands on it, with the occasional cd, usually at the request of my wife who is a disco nut so she has a bunch of disco compilations, but I can dig it, it does get her dancing
Anyway, there is my musical tastes in a nut shell, played exclusively on vintage gear, SX-750,Large Advents,AR-XA,Teac Z-6000 cassette, and whichever R2R I happen to feel like lugging out of the closet for the night.
