Here's a couple of pics, albeit not that great, but it gives an idea of what it looks like for those who haven't seen one. Later I'll take a shot or two under the hood and show the fine workmanship entailed in this little gem.
Just wondering too, should this be in the vintage solid state forum, or is the current modern day hi fi location appropriate? Thanks.

Added a few pics of the insides. I followed the manual for setting the resistance/capacitance levels for the phono section based on my cartridge specs but obviously didn't do something right so I'm going to go back to what it was set at when I got it and see what that sounds like. Thankfully the original setting is the one in the photo so I don't have to rely on my really good but really short memory!

I don't really consider the 90's as vintage, although I can see how it could be classified that way. In your case, I am not sure that too many people have any experience with this particular preamp. I know that I don't. Your Coda may be a "stud" preamp. I do know that JohnVF has a 1990's era Klyne preamp that is his reference preamp. Hopefully someone will see your thread that is in the know about this pre. Don't give up on us yet.

Coda products are built to a very high standard. While I don't have experience with this particular piece, I have one of their amps which is the best power amp I've ever owned ( and I've had dozens ). I would find it had to believe that your preamp wouldn't offer exceptional performance. FET designs in the Threshold/Pass/Forte/Coda tradition all perform very well.

Thanks for the responses, I appreciate it, I was beginning to think nobody had even heard of these components. I played around some more with the DIP switch settings and it seems to sound best at the 47 K ohm (default) and 100 pF settings. I'm not sure why as these settings don't match my cartridge specs but I e-mailed Coda (turns out they're still making high end gear) so I'll see what they have to say.
In the meantime, I'm either going to move it into my other system, connect my other speakers to the amp that the Coda is connected to, or install the switching device I recently bought so I can switch back and forth between speaker pairs as my one set is a lot better sounding (ADS L-880) IMO than the other (Dynaco A-25). This is going to be fun!

After doing some searching on the net for info on your Coda S-100 amplifier, it sounds like a super unit. It also seems like finding one at any price won't be easy and being able to find an affordable one, even less easy! Nevertheless I'll be keeping my eyes open for one and hope I get lucky. Nice amp.

Coda uses all FET transistors in their amps and preamps I believe. They are build like tanks, the company was founded by a few guys who worked at the Threshold Corporation years ago. Don't know if they have a connection with Nelson Pass.

Thanks 240sx4u, I'll check them out. Years ago I priced their speakers when they were in Macungie, PA (less than an hour from me) and they were quite nice but quite expensive. Worth a look though.

Everyone always talks about tube pre's being great with a high quality SS amp, what about the other way around? Currently my two main amps are tube amps, which I really like but after reading about some of the SS offerings from Coda, Threshold, PS Audio, and Vincent (a recent slippers-on post turned me on to them) and getting this Coda preamp, I'm very curious about trying one of these amps.

That's the great debate...some guys like the slam of a Ss amp. But I know a few guys who have it the other way around and they say its not bad. The weekend I will be bringing in a NP Threshold to mate with the Vincent and Vento's....but I won't really have time to enjoy...I have a huge project going on at the house right now.

They did make amps for Legacy. And now I believe Legacy markets the current products by Coda.

you know...looking at your preamp...they look like the old Threshold Fet 10 preamps....so I think it's safe to say they have more of a connection with Neson than first suspected.

I just found out about this brand, hence the thread bump. It's a nice validation of my L-880s to know that they are associated with such a nice preamp (from my recent searches). I've been looking for XLR inputs for a Moon Neo CD player, and also a phono. I may end up with RCA inputs, as it seems mostly line stage preamps have them, but no phono.
