Just got in the 4100. Looking over the thread from "Whaleman" and JKent.

The Big Caps are not around. I have contacted McIntosh service to see if they have any.

I have found one from Mouser. $34.51

OK to replace with Reliable Capacitor MultiCap PPFX .22uf OR 1uf ?

Slipping a piece of tubing over a pigtail fuse was a common practice in that era.

The use of pigtail fuses also promoted the use of S clips and other contrivances so that piggybacking a standard fuse over the blown pigtail could be accomplished.

12,000uf 60v

I checked out a few threads...Did not see any issues on use 15,000UF 100v

Just got a call back from Gail (Mac)...$60 a piece 12,000uf 60v..I also have ordered the 15,000uf 100v from Mouser...Good to have spares...But I am going to use the 15,000uf 1st. I have also placed a order with Mouser and Handmade for the other caps.

Should be ok with 15000 µf. The usual value quoted here in the Mc forum is "higher up to + 50%.

I searched and 12,000uf 60v Mac Service has these..$60 each. I ordered 2.

I still orderd the 15,000uf 100v...Seems this Cap/Lug size in the 4100 are tuff to get. Who knows how many Mac has in stock and not sure how long Nichicon will be making the 15000uf 100v.

I also order 2 Blue LED lamps (#1847) from radiolabworks...I can then remove the Orange Gel paper.

All the Parts are in and the BLue LED's.

Also got the Mac parts...VISHAY SPRAGUE Main Caps and Nichicon NR (Mouser).
I am going to replace the Main Caps Last....I also got in MUNDORF M-Lytic AG 15000uF / 63VDC...I am going to use the MUNDORF 1st and see how this sounds.

I will start Friday or Sat....Pics will be posted.

OK...Started and Pre-Amp done...working on Amp.

The .15ohm 5watt wirerounds will be replaced with Mills.

Working on the Auto-On PC Board.

The Speaker Relay that is in the 4100 is "solder type". Looking at mine..One contact has a Pit Mark in the middle. Sanding this down on this relay is not going to work. Will need to order a New one.

Now...The one that is listed on the "Mac 4100 Under the Knife...Q's" lists 653-LY2-DC48. This is a Lug type and the Mac uses a PC Solder Mount(round).

Now...Seems Mac was cutting corners on the RCA jacks. As you can see Cheap Metal as they bend very easy. Going to replace with some Nice Gold ones.

Now there is another Relay next to the Power Supply Board...

78RCSX-11 24VDC Magnecraft

Has anyone replaced this? Replacement Part #..:scratch2:

I just got a Email from Magnecraft / Schneider Electric....The replacement part for 78RCSX-11 is 782XBXC-24D

Completed Volume, Tone and AM boards...

Powered On...and :music:..only thing is FM stereo not coming in well.

FM for tomorrow.

I will need to get a Tuner Alignment..Mac Local Service shop by me.

Need to put a order in for the Speaker Relay.

The Magnecraft / Schneider Electric replacement is 15A as to the one Skippy ps used 10A...Old one is working...but why not put a fresh one in.

So...Can the 10A be used..:scratch2:
