What mods did you have done, how well did they work, and who did them? I have a T-109V.
well, i never heard this one stock, so, i can't compare to stock. but, i know of someone who *did* use his stock t109 before sending it to joseph chow at components plus usa. he posted his comments here:

read the 1st "words of praise" by joebone. i have had a few emails w/joe, before i had gotten my t109. the reason i never heard mine stock, was cuz it was a japan-spec tuna, when i got it - the only reason i could afford it!

japan spec means a tuning band from 76-90, instead of 88-108. joseph, w/friends in japan, (he used to be a kenwood tuner engineer), was the only tuner guy i know of, that was able to source the parts to do the conwersion. he also had to change the woltage from 100vac to 120vac. mods included better wiring, better caps, & replacement of all op-amps w/burr-brown opa627's. of course, a complete alignment was done.
it *is* a nice sounding tuna - certainly my best, if only by a whisker. the soundstaging of this baby is ever-so-slightly wider than my modded hk citation 18's, and modded heathkit aj1600, w/everything else being equal. (these modded tunas are a freaking bargain, imo.) you would *never* be able to distinguish the difference unless doing a direct a-b comparison.
not sure i will keep the t109 - it's yust too much money sitting there on the shelf. but it *is* my best, so i should keep it for that reason alone, no?

but, this may change, ya never know. joseph chow has said he prefers the older analog t100 to the later accuphase digitals. and, i yust nabbed a t100 on ebay for <$500, (certainly a more sane price that >$1k), which has been freshly serviced. (but no mods.) looking forward to making this comparison. :>)
